1️⃣ BACKGROUND: Vietnam is returning to the nuclear power program after pausing in 2016, to solve the problem of electricity shortage due to industrial growth and sharp increase in energy demand. Nuclear power is no longer an option but a long-term solution for energy security
2️⃣ PETROVIETNAM'S ROLE: The Group is transforming from oil and gas to an "integrated energy center", participating in LNG, renewable energy and nuclear power. Working with the IAEA shows that Petrovietnam is standardizing according to international standards, not only doing projects but building high-tech platforms
3️⃣ MEANING OF IAEA COOPERATION:
• Human resource training - the biggest shortage of nuclear power
• Safety standardization – a vital criterion for the industry
• Access to global experience – reducing implementation risks
This is an important "unlocking" step so that Vietnam can return to the nuclear game
4️⃣ NINH THUAN 2 - STRATEGIC LINK: The project is part of the plan to increase national electricity capacity, and encountered difficulties when Japan withdrew in 2025. This forced Vietnam to find new partners and increase technological autonomy.

• Not dependent on weather like wind - solar power
