In the early morning of May 13, a Ukrainian drone attack caused a large fire at the Tammanneftogaz oil transit facility in the village of Volna, Krasnodar region of Russia.

This is one of the strategic hubs, where oil and gas are received from Russia's pipeline system and then pumped onto tankers for export through the Black Sea to the international market.

NASA's FIRMS system recorded a large fire right at the oil storage area.
Russian officials confirmed at least one person was injured.
This port plays an extremely important role in Russia's energy export logistics chain.

According to Bloomberg data, in April alone there were at least 21 attacks targeting:
• Oil refinery
• Fuel storage
• Pipelines
• Oil and gas export port

Ukraine's strategic goal is to reduce revenue from oil and gas - Russia's important financial pillar.

GLOBAL IMPACT
• Increasing risks of oil supply through the Black Sea
• Increase in marine insurance costs
• Pushing Brent and WTI prices to fluctuate strongly
• Putting pressure on energy importing countries, including Vietnam

⚡ If the attacks continue, the international oil market may face huge price fluctuations in the near future.
