A drilling rig has been operating for nearly two decades, continuously trusted by oil and gas operators. Are there still "energy treasures" at the bottom of Vietnam's seabed that are much larger than what the public currently knows?
While many people focus on renewable energy, a silent "giant" off the coast of Vietnam is still carrying out the task of finding and exploiting strategic resources for the economy day and night.
That is the PV DRILLING I jack-up drilling rig of PetroVietnam Drilling and Drilling Services Corporation.
According to published information, PV DRILLING I has just returned to Vietnam after a campaign in Malaysia and continues to be awarded a contract to serve PVEP Cuu Long at the Su Tu mine cluster in Block 15-1 with an expected implementation time of up to 249 days.

A RECORD THAT MAKES THE VIETNAM OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY FOREVER REMEMBER
In 2014, PV DRILLING I set the record for the longest drilled well in Vietnam at well SNN3P with a total length of up to7,300 meters when drilling into the granite layer of the Cuu Long basin. This is considered one of the most notable technical achievements of Vietnam's oil and gas drilling industry.
Not simply an exploitation equipment, this rig is also considered a "university at sea" when training many generations of engineers, operations and management experts for PV Drilling.
WHY 249 DAY CONTRACTS GET ATTENTION
In the oil and gas drilling industry, long contract terms often reflect the level of customer confidence in operating capabilities.
Factors that help PV DRILLING I continue to be selected include:
✅ Nearly 20 years of operating experience
✅ Achievement in completing wells earlier than planned
✅ Understand the geological conditions in Vietnam
✅ Team of experienced engineers and experts
✅ Competitive operating costs in the region

WHAT'S HAPPENING UNDER THE SEA BOTTOM OF VIETNAM
The fact that PV Drilling has continuously expanded its rig fleet in recent years, and at the same time many long-term contracts have reappeared, is causing investors to question whether Vietnam is entering a new cycle of oil and gas exploration.
Offshore projects, the need to ensure energy security and existing mines in the Cuu Long and Nam Con Son basins are still playing a very important role for the country.national economy.
If exploration activities continue to achieve positive results, rigs like PV DRILLING I will play a central role in finding new resources for many years to come.
In your opinion, will Vietnam still be able to discover more large-scale offshore oil and gas fields in the next decade or has the peak period of the oil and gas industry passed?
