Intel Vietnam Marks 20 Years with Over $110 Billion in Export Contributions

As Intel Products Vietnam celebrated its 20th anniversary at Ho Chi Minh City's High-Tech Park on June 12, 2026, the company unveiled remarkable achievements that underscore its pivotal role in Vietnam's technological advancement and economic growth.

Reflecting on the company's journey, Kenneth Tse, General Director of Intel Products Vietnam, announced that Intel's Vietnam facility has produced over 4 billion products during its two decades of operations, contributing more than $110 billion in export value to Vietnam's economy.

Impressive Economic Impact

In 2025 alone, Intel Products Vietnam achieved an export value of approximately $11.67 billion (equivalent to about 303.42 trillion VND at current exchange rates). This remarkable contribution represents about 57% of the total export value of Ho Chi Minh City's High-Tech Park and approximately 12% of the city's total exports.

From FDI Project to Global Semiconductor Production Hub

First licensed for investment in 2006 and established at Ho Chi Minh City's High-Tech Park, Intel Products Vietnam has evolved into Intel's largest assembly and testing facility within its global system. After two decades of development, the plant not only handles production but has become a strategic link in Intel's global semiconductor supply chain.

One of the notable products currently manufactured in Vietnam is the Intel Series 3 processors for AI PCs, utilizing 18A process technology equivalent to approximately 2 nanometers—among the most advanced semiconductor technologies available today.

Beyond Exports: Building Vietnam's Semiconductor Industry Foundation

Beyond the impressive economic figures, Intel is recognized as one of the enterprises that has laid the foundation for Vietnam's semiconductor industry. At the anniversary event, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan stated that Intel has contributed to the formation of Vietnam's semiconductor market, which now exceeds $24 billion in scale.

According to Minister Vu Hai Quan, Vietnam's next development phase should focus on three strategic transitions:

  • First, shifting from participating in value chains to mastering higher-value-added stages.
  • Second, transitioning from attracting investment to co-creating technology and conducting global research and development.
  • Third, evolving from workforce training to building teams capable of leading future technologies.

Ho Chi Minh City's Commitment to Continued Partnership

Nguyen Van Duong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, highlighted Intel as one of the enterprises making significant contributions to the city's economic restructuring, development of high-quality human resources, and promotion of innovation.

He affirmed that the city will continue to partner with Intel, address challenges, and support the company's expansion efforts, contributing to Ho Chi Minh City's emergence as a significant technology center on the global technology map.
