760 pile centers completed in just 68 days in the middle of the ocean, is this one of the most impressive wind power foundation construction campaigns in Vietnam in 2026?
June 1, 2026 marked an important milestone of Soc Trang 7 Wind Power Project Phase 2 when Sigma completed all mass pile items for 19 offshore turbine pier foundations. After 68 days of continuous construction in sea breeze, tide and harsh weather conditions, a total of 760 pile centers were completed, creating the foundation for one of the large-scale coastal wind power projects in the Mekong Delta.
The numbers speak
Category Results
Number of turbine foundations 19
Total pile heart 760
Construction time 68 days
Pile start date is March 25, 2026
Completion date May 31, 2026
Construction equipment for 6 sets simultaneously
Personnel involved More than 60 people
Peak output is 7 cores per day
Unlike projects on land, each offshore pile center is a real technical challenge. The construction team must accurately calculate tides, geological conditions, wind forces and the ability to operate equipment on land that always fluctuates with ocean waves.
⚡ How remarkable is the scale of the project?
Project information Value
Project name Soc Trang 7 Wind Power Phase 2
Investor ST2 Energy
Capacity About 89,3 MW to 90 MW
Number of turbines 19
Average annual electricity is 271 to 282 million kWh
Total investment capital Nearly 5,700 billion VND
Expected operating time is the end of 2026
The project is expected to provide more than 275 million kWh of clean electricity per year for the national electricity system, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting Vietnam's renewable energy development goals.
️ What makes the achievement of 760 hearts?
Not the device.
Not technology.
It is the ability to organize synchronous construction between dozens of engineers, field staff and workers working continuously in the middle of the sea.
There are days when the sun rises and the work shift begins.
There are nights when the tide is favorable, the construction site lights are still bright in the middle of the sea to take advantage of every precious construction hour.
Each pile heart lowered brings the project closer to the day when the giant rotors begin to rotate and generate commercial electricity.
Greater significance than a wind power project
760 pile hearts is not simply a technical number.
That is the foundation for 19 turbine pillars that will rise hundreds of meters into the sea.
That's hundreds of millions of kWh of clean electricity in the future.
That's thousands of tons of CO₂ that could be cut each year.
It is also a testament to the increasingly mature capacity of Vietnamese contractors in the field of offshore renewable energy.
Outstanding progress of Soc Trang 7 Phase 2

Completed 760 pile hearts by May 2026
Construction of turbine structure 2026
Expected releaseelectricity End of 2026
️ Maybe many people will only see the giant propellers when the project is completed. But professionals understand that real success begins with structures deep underground. Today's 760 pile centers will be the foundation for future turbines to turn Soc Trang's sea breeze into a clean energy source serving hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese households.
One item has been completed. A new green energy symbol is gradually taking shape in the middle of the Southern sea.
