If demand for aviation fuel and diesel continues to increase strongly in the next few years, can Dung Quat become the largest fuel logistics center in Vietnam, far surpassing many traditional distribution hubs today?
Dung Quat Oil Refinery has just recorded an important milestone when officially putting into operation the project to upgrade and expand the tank truck export station for DO diesel and Jet-A1 aviation fuel. This move helps the capacity to export and sell products by road increase from about 2,000 m³/day to 2,900 m³/day, equivalent to an increase of 45%.
This is not simply a technical infrastructure project but also an affirmation of the strategy to upgrade the national fuel supply chain in the context of Vietnam's energy demand continuing to grow strongly.

Why BSR Must Expand Tank Truck Export Station
Before upgrading, Dung Quat's road export system included 4 export stations serving many types of products such as:
Product Role
RON 95 gasoline Serving the civil market
Gasoline RON 92 Blended fuel
Diesel DO Transport and Industry
Jet-A1 Aviation
FO Heavy industry
During peak periods, the number of tank trucks increases rapidly, causing long waiting times to receive goods, affecting distribution efficiency.
BSR added 2 morenew export station, bringing the total number to 6 stations operating simultaneously.
Compare Before And After Upgrade
Indicators Before upgrading After upgrading
Output station number 4 6
Road output capacity 2,000 m³/day 2,900 m³/day
Capacity gain - +45%
Ability to serve tank trucks Limit peak hours More flexibility
Delivery speed Slower Faster
The increase of nearly 900 m³ of fuel per day is very significant in the field of energy logistics.
Jet-A1 Is Becoming a Hot Spot
One of the biggest goals of the project is to serve aviation fuel needs.
Vietnam's aviation industry is recovering strongly after many years of turmoil. Large airports such as Noi Bai International Airport, Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Long Thanh International Airport are or will need an increasing number of Jet-A1s.
Increasing the fuel export rate helps:
✅ Reduce supply chain pressure
✅ Increase proactiveness for aviation businesses
✅ Limit the risk of fuel shortage during peak season
✅ Optimize logistics costs
Diesel Is Still the "Lifeblood" of the Economy
Despite the ongoing energy transition trend, diesel is still the main fuel for:
* Trucks transport goods
* Container truck
* Industrial machinery
* Construction equipment
* Domestic transport ships
The increase in diesel export capacity from Dung Quat contributes to maintaining the stability of the transport and logistics chain nationwide.
Greater Meaning Than a Logistics Project
It is worth noting that the project was implemented in conditions where the factory still maintained continuous production activities.
This requires:
Level Requirements
SafeOperational efficiency Very high
No production interruption Mandatory
On schedule Required
Quality assurance Mandatory
This is one of BSR's most meaningful energy logistics projects in 2026.
Dung Quat Is Preparing For A Bigger Stage
In addition to the tank truck export station, BSR is also implementing a series of plans:
* Additional crude oil tank system
* Upgrading product sales infrastructure
* Invest in digitalization of operations
* Preparing the project to upgrade and expand Dung Quat Oil Refinery
The ultimate goal is to build a modern petrochemical refining ecosystem capable of competing with many petrochemical refining centers in Asia.
Noteworthy Numbers

Main products Diesel DO, Jet-A1
Increasing sales capacity to nearly 3,000 m³ per day shows that BSR is not only expanding its logistics scale but is also preparing the foundation to meet Vietnam's growing energy needs in the new development period.
